National Press Club's 2019 Book Fair & Authors' Night
The Capitol region's premier holiday book event is back for its 42nd year. The National Press Club Journalism Institute is partnering with landmark local bookseller Politics & Prose for a night of pols, pundits and prose on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019. National Press Club members and the public are invited to attend the book fair, where patrons can browse for books in a variety of genres at the Club's headquarters from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for NPC and Politics & Prose members; $10 for the public. Tickets will be sold online and at the door. In addition to being an incredible opportunity to meet your favorite authors and pick up gifts for the avid readers in your life, the Book Fair is a fundraiser for The National Press Club Journalism Institute. The Institute promotes an engaged global citizenry through an independent and free press, and equips journalists with skills and standards to inform the public in ways that inspire civic engagement. Authors who have published a book since November 2018 are invited to apply to sell their work during the Fair. Complete applications must be submitted by Aug. 30.
