Ireland 100" -- Festival Opening Performance

Concerts & MusicIreland 100, The Kennedy Center's celebration of Irish arts and culture, launches with this opening-night show of performing artists from both Ireland and the US. Directed and hosted by the festival's artist-in-residence, award-winning actress Fiona Shaw, the evening's festivities include performances from choreographer and dancer Colin Dunne (Riverdance), soprano and rising star Tara Erraught, tenor Anthony Kearns (The Irish Tenors), fiddler Liz Knowles (Riverdance, Celtic Legends), theater actor Louis Lovett, award-winning classical pianist Barry Douglas, a trio of Uilleann pipers from Na Píobairí Uilleann (NPU), the Harmony North Choir, an ensemble of students from Northern Belfast, actors from the Abbey Theatre and the National Symphony Orchestra, led by leading Irish conductor David Brophy. Come celebrate the artistry of modern Ireland.
